Nazi Cleaning

In the apartments where I live we have monthly cleaning inspections. They're pretty intense. It's like better than spring cleaning every month. We have our first check tomorrow at 4p, so we have been cleaning all evening. Here you can see the fruit of our labors, or what's done of it:

My room all spic and span

The living room in the process
Kitchen in progress

Bathroom also in progress

This is some serious stuff. I don't think I've ever cleaned this good in my life! :)

Care Package!

Yesterday, I got a package in the mail from my family. It was so nice to get mail (especially a package!). It had tons of neat stuff in it; check it out:

First FHE

So, tonight we still hadn't heard anything about who was in charge of our FHE group or when we were meeting or anything, so I called the Bishopric and they told me to just go ahead and organize it for this week since they hadn't gotten a hold of the Mom and Dad for our group. So I got my list of people, and started looking everyone up on Facebook. I found most everyone. I got in touch with at least one girl from each of the other two girl apartments in our group, and had them come over at 830p. Then we took a field trip over to the boys' apartments and banged on their doors-- literally. So in the end we had all of the girls except one of my roommates, Clarissa, and 4 boys out of the 6. Pretty nice turn out for VERY late notice. I had everyone write birthday wishes for Lela Machado since tomorrow's her birthday (and the Wilkinson Center's post office has same-day delivery to the MTC) so I could mail them to her tomorrow. Then my roommate Steff gave a spiritual thought, and we played I've Never for a while. It was fun, but mostly just to be there with everyone and laugh and talk. Then all the girls left when we were done and some of the boys, but 2 of guys stayed behind. Steff and I thought they were just talking for a couple minutes because we were standing by the door, but then we all gradually sat down and kept talking for a while. Then their other roommate came back after he did something at his apartment, and he stayed, too. We just kept talking for a long time, and they were so fun and such nice guys. Then they left at about 11, and Clarissa finally got back a half hour later. She had been in the library ALL DAY. Poor girl! And she missed a totally fun FHE. Won't happen again! lol

Keep in touch! I think of all of you guys a lot and miss you tons!

Let me explain...

So it was brought to my attention that I blogged about the "brothers" I was dealing with during BYU Education Week without telling you who they were. Haha. Well, Christina Vanfleet was my mom's roommate at BYU, and we randomly met them in Orlando a few years ago. She taught me piano lessons for a couple years, until they moved to Provo so that her husband could teach at BYU (physics). So I've stayed with them a couple times when I come to Provo. Their sons are the "brothers." lol

Get it now? (Thanks for the tip-off, Lindsey)

First Day of Class

Well, it's official: I'm a college student! Ok, it's really not that exciting. I had to join this group called Freshman Academy to get on-campus housing, and it basically puts my into this housing group, and we are in the same ward, and have the same (small) classes, and there are like activities to do and stuff. They also force you into an envelope of classes, even if you've already taken them. I dunno, I think FA just makes it seem too much like high school, which I am SO OVER. lol. But seriously, I came here ready for the "college experience" but I got a repeat of high school for my first semester. Frustrating.

Ok, so now that I got that out, not everything is bad. My roommates are great and we get along well. We just worked out chores tonight, and we have "family prayer" which is really nice. We have tons of fun laughing at eachother and being histerical.

And I got a job at the MTC working in the cafeteria serving food. I hope I get to see Lela, or I guess she's Sister Machado now :) And I'll get to see a few other people who are coming through this fall. Wooo! Plus, I think it will be a great job since the missionaries will be respectful and there'll be a great Spirit there. I can't wait for my first shift Saturday the 6th.

My ward is pretty nice. We haven't done much yet, except for church Sunday, and that was kind of weird because we didn't really have meetings the last 2 hours; and FHE, where we organized the groups. All 6 of the guys in our group didn't show. One of them came late after my roommate, Steff, knocked on his door. He said he didn't know it was tonight. I think the other guys are inactive or something because they weren't at church, either. Strange...

No dates yet. Guys are lame.

It's getting cold. Yuck.

That's about it. Love and miss you all MUCH! Keep me updated. I loooove mail :)
