Missionaries

First of all, I just want to say how much I love missionaries!

A lot of my guy friends, mostly those from my BYU ward, are heading out on their missions. So far, 6 have left in the last few weeks, the first of which was my good friend John. I get to write him "Dear John"s all the time, which I think is just hilarious. I've already gotten 2 letters from him. I absolutely love hearing from him, because I feel his love for the gospel even more that I'm used to. He's absolutely loving the MTC. Four more friends are leaving this week, and Neil (aka my FHE "hubby") is one of them, and also Tim, who was (my roommate) Clarissa's best buddy all year, as well as a good friend of mine. And Geoff is my friend DaNae's FHE hubby. Just wanted to post pictures and say the missions of a couple of them (unfortunately, I don't have picture of Tim in a suit... yet lol).

Also, I wanted to say how much I love DearElder.com! It's free to send letters to missionaries in the MTC and those in "pouch missions" (like Shanelle Goodell, for example). And for every where else they only charge you the price of a stamp. So, if you have missionaries out there who haven't had a letter from you in a while, take a minute and shoot them something on DearElder.com.

Summer........

Ok, so not much has been going on in my life since I came home. Ok, really NOTHING'S been going to tell the truth. I still don't have a job, but something will work out, eventually. And besides that I sleep in until noon (at least) everyday, and then I wake up and spend my day on facebook or reading. Very exciting. I'm home by myself all day, and I've taken to cleaning the house. Woo. I had a couple of babysitting jobs the past week, but that's about the only thing keeping me busy.

I finished reading Infidel that I got from Jessica Martinez for graduation last year. I finally got some free time to sit down and read it, and it was so good! I was just loving reading it. I highly recommend it, especially if you are interested in Islam and women's rights. I learned so much from reading that book, and it really makes me grateful for the freedoms we have in our Western society, and especially for my rights as a woman. Very interesting-- give it a read!

Something remotely intresting that happened this week was that on Friday night I rode my bike to the Avalon ampitheater and watched Bedtime Stories on the big screen there. I saw that movie on my birthday at the dollar theater as you might recall, but I liked seeing it again because I had forgotten all the funny things about it. Anyway, I invited Kim to come watch it with me and she had her parents drop her off and she brought us McDonald's food! It was so fun it see her and chat and eat and watch the rest of the movie. After it was over, we just kept sitting there on the blanket and talked for like an hour after everyone had left. It was really nice to catch up. We're both in the same "have nothing to do all day and can't find a job" situation so it was fun to comisserate. LOL. Then we walked home and stood in her driveway talking some more and almost got hit by Brandon pulling into the driveway. He joined us and we talked a little more then I rode my bike home a little after midnight. Overall, a very enjoyable evening. Kim and I decided to re-read the entire Harry Potter series to fill up our time, and because we've forgotten like everything that happens :)

That's pretty much all I can think about that happened this week. I really enjoyed Stake Conference and all the speakers and the things the Stake Presidency had to say. I like the focus on temples and families that was going on. I especially love President Hawkes' advice to "take these days with eyes wide open." I think there's so much we can learn from the economic hardships and things that are happening in the world.

Well, until next week or something exciting happens, lol, bye!

Back Home

Hey everyone... In case you haven't heard yet, I am back in Orlando for the summer. I know, random. I was totally planning on staying in Provo, but when things didn't work out, I randomly told my mom I wanted to come home and 5 minutes later I had a plane ticket. LOL.

So the plan was that I had a free place to live at home, and that Regal still had a job with me. Well, half of that's right. Apparently, though, Regal had to terminate me from their system at Christmas when I didn't work, so I have to go through the application process again if I want to be re-hired. I hope they realize they need more employees for the summer movie season and give me a call. :)

Being home is a lot weirder than I thought it would be. I have nothing to do with myself, no friends to hang out with whenever I want 24/7, no obligations, no reason to get up in the morning, no studying to do, no classes to go to, no independence, no way to get around besides my bike, no place to go, etc etc etc. I'm really starting to miss college life, BYU campus, and Provo right about now. I didn't realize how boring it would be. My family is away all day at work and school, and most of my friends are still in school, too. So I spend my days on Facebook, taking care of my dog, and watching Fox News (FINALLY I have been reunited with my favorite news channel lol).

Today I had a nice surprise when I went to look at my checking account online. There was a $89.90 charge pending from PayPal that I had nothing to do with. So I had to go to my PayPal account, which I've used once in my life, and see what was going on. There was some random payment to some guy from India or something. Lame. So I call my dad and file a claim with PayPal online, they have me change me password, and yadda yadda yadda. Then I call my bank and apparently they can't do anything to stop the payment unless PayPal calls them with some verification code or something, and PayPal won't do that until they've investigated my fraud claim, which could take up to 30 days. So basically my checking account is useless until then, because the charge will overdraw my account and, oh-my-heck, it's a pain in the butt. Blah.

So that's about all the excitement going on in my life. Tomorrow are the Stoneybrook Community Garage Sales, and I'm waking up "early" (for me) to go with my mom in the morning. Like I need anyone's junk, really :)

Tonight I went to a Young Women's Camp Meeting BBQ (my mom is an assistant camp director and my sister is a YCL) and we did personality tests. I am a "CS" as they call it. C is my dominant personality, and S is my secondary. Here are some interesting things I learned about myself from the test, which are all totally true! I was laughing at how accurate some of them are.

Buying Method: Decides cautiously, prefers the exceptional, likes value
Personal Decor: Asthetically pleasing, unique, functional
Body Language: Unemotional, controlled gestures, assessing
Organizational Method: Highly organized, personalized detailed system
Speech Tones: Clarifying monotone, logical, focused, emotionless
Greatest Need: Quality answers
Question I want answered: Why are we doing this?
Animal: Tropical fish :) haha
Motto: Plan your work, then work your plan!

Like: Consistency, Detail, Excellent work, Creativity, Perfection, Getting it right

Make good: Lawyers, Musicians, Philosophers, Photographers, Scientists, Surgeons, Theologans, etc.

So now you know a little more about me. And I think that's all that I have to write about. I am running low.

So I would really appreciate it if anyone knows somewhere I can get a job, or have a job for me to do (babysitting, housecleaning, stuff like that), or if you can think of a hobby I could pick up, or a way for me to get a car for the summer so I can get to a job when I have one (lol) that would be great!
