FHE Camera Tag at Shopko

So, this week was our last FHE together, as the bishopric has decided to disband and re-form the families this semester. I am being released as mom, so I'm looking forward to a new calling. :) So, for our"last hurrah" of FHEs we went to Shopko and played camera tag. We had a scavenger hunt to do as well (find socks the color of your eyes, find a toy that looks like you, find a book with the same copyright year as your birthday, etc.). We broke up into 3 teams of 2 and a team of 3. There was one camera per team and you had to try to get as many pictures of members of the other team as you could There were points for completeing the scavenger hunt and for getting full body or face shots of the other team. It was great fun, but I'm sure the other people in the store were annoyed by us dashing down asiles an ducking around them. You only get to be an annoying college student once, right? Haha. Here are some fun pictures I got that night:

Saturday Night Date

Alright so, I got my first official date. Ok, yeah, sure I went to preference with Neil, but I asked, so I don't really count that one. Ok, this one was a little iffy too, but I count it anyway. My roommate, Clarissa, has this guy best friend (everyone thinks they are dating, but they aren't attracted to each other at all) who I've been getting to know better recently. His name is Tim. Anyway, Tim and Clarissa hang out like 24/7 usually, but Clarissa had a second date with Andy from our FHE group on Saturday night, so Tim wanted to hang out with me. We decided to go to the dollar theater to see City of Ember, which I saw the night before for free at the Varsity theater, but I went again to spend time with Tim. Plus, it's a way good movie (I definitely recommend you go rent it when it comes out- but if you've read the book, prepare to be disappointed, like usual).

I wasn't sure if he was planning on paying or not, so I asked if this was a "date," and he said he was planning on paying so why not? We left at like 7:15 and walked to the theater. We got there just in time for the movie, and had to sit up front in like the 3rd row, but it wasn't bad. Tim bought us popcorn, too. Yum! Afterward we just walked straight home, almost killing ourselves on the black ice several times, but we survived. :)

We got back, and were planning on meeting up with Clarissa and Andy to watch a movie that Clarissa and some friends had made in high school. While we were waiting for them, we popped in The Princess Bride, which I didn't know Tim hadn't seen before (it's a sin!), but Clarissa and Andy got back before it was too far in the movie, so we decided watching it would be our second date. LOL.

We watched the movie at Andy and Neil's apartment with them, and then we headed home pretty soon after. I didn't realize Tim was going to his apartment, so I didn't have a chance to give him a hug for the date, but whatever. He knows I had a good time. :)

Classes For This Semester

Well, I know you're all dying to hear what classes I'm taking next semester, so here you go:

Anthropology
Intro to Speech/Language Pathology and Audiology
Lifestyle Management
Civilization: Music 1
The Book of Mormon - Part 2
Family Finance

(That's a total of 15 credit hours.)

I am also contemplating signing up for a clarinet class so I can start playing again. It's private lessons, which is nice, and who knows, maybe I will decided I want to continue with it.

Resolutions

Ok, so last semester I learned A LOT about myself that I really didn't want to know, so this semester I am making some changes. I thought I would list some of my goals for this coming few months, that will hopefully carry over the rest of the year and beyond. Enjoy....

1. Early to bed, early to rise
2. Eat breakfast!
3. Read scriptures and shower in the morning
4. Use my Healthy College Cookbook :)
5. Attend all classes
6. Finish homework each day
7. Make daily goals/to-do list each night
8. Do more meaningful activities with friends (not just "hanging out")
9. Be more social in my classes
10. Smile always!
11. Remember to write missionaries at least monthly.
12. Stop gossiping!

Ok, it's kind of a lot, but I've been mentally preparing myself for these for a while now, and I think I've convinced myself that I want to do them for real. Wish me luck!

Updated Again

New pics are up and they go all the way back to "Last Night in my Apartment Before Break." Have fun perusing!

Midnight Sledding... again

Sooo... last night I'm sitting around the apartment all by myself, sort of getting ready for bed, when someone comes banging on the door. I open it to find Russell and Steve from my ward, and they asked if I wanted to go sledding with them. Random. But I was super excited and went along. They had knocked on two other random girls' doors from another ward, and they came too. I sort of knew one of the girls. Anyway, we went up to Rock Canyon, the big hill right above the temple. We had a tobagan that fit all 5 of us tight, a snowboard, and a tray from the Cannon Center (that Russell stole... yikes). It. Was. Awesome. Seriously one of the funnest things I've done since I've been at BYU. Of course, I did forget my gloves so my hands turned purple and I thought I'd never be able to feel them again, but it was great! I didn't take my camera with me for fear of losing it on the slope, but I got some pics of me when I got home. Don't I look loverly frosted in snow?

Mississippi Trip!

We drove up to Mississippi to see Dad's family from the 29th until New Year's Eve. We had a great time seeing all our relatives. Rosie got to go, too, and I think she almost went crazy from all the attention from the little cousins... lol. I didn't get many pictures, but here's some of what I did get.
