For those of you who don't know, this year I stayed in the same apartment I've been in since January. I did switch rooms, so now I have more space and a bigger closet, which is super nice. My mom has still not seen it, but she did used to live in this complex 23 years ago when she met my dad. So, here's a video tour of the apartment, just for Mom (and Dad will probably appreciate it, too.) Enjoy!

Documenting the Year of the Decrepid Apartment
Ok, so maybe Glenwood isn't that bad, but after Wyview it definitely seems so...

So.. we had a leak in out kitchen ceiling above the fridge. The cabinet above the fridge got taken down and now takes up space in our already crowded kitchen.

Now freezer space, there's nothing we can do about that. It's so packed we have to duct tape it shut.

Tonight our bishopric put together this cool activity.
Each boys apt got a box of cake mix with a number on it and each girl's apt got a can of frosting with a number on it. The boys had to go around and find the apt that matched the number on their box, then they all made the cake together. It was really fun! And the cake turned out delicious!

We played Nertz while we were waiting for the cake to bake. My roommate Deba has so many decks of cards that she has to draw on the backs of them to keep them separate. lol Really good idea actually! (Everyone uses their own deck for the game Nertz)

Well, besides the fact that the apartment's falling apart daily, I think it's going to be a pretty good year. I really like my roommates and the ward seems good, too. Only time will tell...
Just about the only storage space I have is under my bed. That's why it's stacked on cinder blocks, which also provide storage themselves, surprisingly. :)

Shoes, Textbooks, and Glenwood
So, I've been needing some new shoes for a while now, and last night my toe was completely coming out of my old "converse" and so I decided it was finally time. I biked to Shopko, where they have a Payless, and I picked out a new pair almost just like my old converse (still knock-offs, but a lot cheaper than real ones lol) and since the BOGO deal was going on I got a second pair of zebra-striped flats for half off. I had a 20% off coupon for my whole Payless purchase. So I got both pairs of shoes for $27! It was awesome.

Then I took my bike on the bus up to campus because I was lazy and it was hot outside. I went to the Bookstore and got all my textbooks for this fall. It was over $300! Intense. So I just charged it to my University Account and will pay it with my loan when I get that eventually.... :) Here is my giant stack of books.

And I finally took some pictures of my new apartment at Glenwood. It's pretty ghetto, so don't laugh :)

My side of my temporary room, which is why I'm still living out of my suitcases there on the floor.
